Your guests are spending a lot of time looking at your back when you're saying all your vows, so why not add some flowers to your hair? They can also look great under or over your wedding veil and look great for boho / Bohemian, rustic, outdoor and vintage themed weddings. You can use real flowers to match your wedding bouquet, or artificial or silk flowers to match your wedding colour scheme.
Some hair stylist and florists prefer to use wired flowers, or flowers arranged and secured onto a clip, just make sure they are not too heavy or wide, and the wires are not to long so the stems of the flowers can be hidden into your hair easily.
I prefer using loose flowers which I arrange and pin into hair individually using bobbie pins, as I find they can be secured into your hair easily. Rhinestone and Pearl pins can also be mixed with flowers for extra sparkle and glam, or mix with green leaves or foliage for a more rustic look.
You can use nearly any type of flower to suit your wedding theme and colours, smaller / lighter flowers do tend to work better as (depending on your hair type and style) are more likely to sit and stay in your hair. I have used white, pink, purple, green and orange flowers from Daisy's, Sabiosa, Hydrangea, Lizyanthus, Astrantia, Orchids Freesia, Sea thistle to Gypsophilia
Here are some examples or bridal up do's / hair up's finished with flowers as hair accessories, as you can see these can be placed bunched together, randomly placed through a low bun, or through plaits.
These look great for Brides, Bridesmaids and flower girls. You can add a large flower arrangement at the back, or have smaller flowers mixed around or through twists or plaits and braids.
For a really rustic wedding flower crowns look great and you can go as small simple with gypsophila threaded into a braid or tucked into twists, to large elaborate crowns which really steel the show. Just be careful about the weight, some crowns can feel very heavy and limit your possible hair styles and are hard to secure in place and are likely to move, especially on the dance floor. If you decide to remove the flower crown during your wedding day your hair is likely to require re-styling. Its advisable to bring a example of your flower crown to your hair trial, if you are using real flowers see if your florist can provide a sample or purchase a cheap artificial one to try out.
