Booking Questions

  • How can I find out if you’re available for my wedding day?

Just reach out to me directly to check availability! My online booking calendar is blocked out to reserve certain wedding dates, so it’s best to contact me directly to secure your date. If you’d like to schedule a chat or meet in person, you can easily book a consultation online—just click here. I can’t wait to hear from you!

  • Do you require a deposit?

Yes, I do require a deposit.  I ask for the cost of the trial as a deposit, to reserve your wedding date. This way, you’re only financially committed to the trial itself, and if for any reason you’re not satisfied, you can cancel without further obligation. However, I’ll do everything I can to ensure you’re happy with the trial!

If you’re not having a trial, I ask for 50% upon booking and the remaining 50% a month before your wedding day.

  • How far in advance should I book?

The sooner, the better! Since there's only one of me, once I’m booked, I’m booked! My availability can vary, so it’s always worth checking if your date is open. I happily accept bookings up to 18 months in advance, so don’t wait—let’s get you on the calendar!

  • Can we have a chat before I book?

Of course! I’d love to chat before you book. You can schedule a call, Zoom meeting, or an in-person visit to my home salon in Lyde Green, Bristol.

Just click here to book a consultation online, and let’s get to know each other!

  • Can I see photos of brides you’ve worked with?

Absolutely! I’d love to share my work with you. You can check out photos of my beautiful brides in the portfolio section of my website or on my social media pages.

It’s a great way to get a feel for my style and see what I can do!

  • Why is the bridal price higher?

The bridal price is higher because it covers more than just the styling. It includes my administration time, travel, setup, and any backup plans to ensure everything goes smoothly on your big day. It’s all part of making sure you look and feel amazing from start to finish!

  • When do I need to pay?

To secure my services for your wedding day, a deposit covering the cost of the trial is required.

After the trial, I’ll ask for a 50% deposit to confirm your wedding day booking. The remaining balance is due one month before your big day.

All payments are non-refundable and will be deducted from the total balance. Please also note that a minimum charge may apply on certain dates.

  • Why is wedding hair and makeup more expensive?

Wedding hair and makeup costs more because they often involve early mornings, starting as early as 6am, and working weekends, especially during the busy summer season. The price reflects the extra time, effort, and dedication required. It can also be quite stressful, as I’m working in a high-pressure environment where brides might be nervous, distracted, or busy with last-minute details. Your special day deserves that extra care and attention!

  • Can you do hair and/or makeup for the whole wedding party?

Absolutely! I’ll ensure that everyone in your wedding party looks picture-perfect, whether they’re after hair, makeup, or a mix of both. This includes bridesmaids, mothers of the bride/groom, and junior flower girls. If you have a large wedding party, I can arrange for additional makeup artists or hair stylists to help out. Just let me know your needs, and we’ll make it all come together beautifully!

  • Will you be the one doing my hair and/or makeup on my wedding day?

It depends on the size of your wedding and the timing of your ceremony. For larger weddings, I work with a talented team of stylists and artists who can help bring your vision to life. Let’s chat directly to go over the details and make sure you’re in great hands!

  • Are You Insured?

Absolutely! I’m fully insured with coverage of £1,000,000 for Medical Malpractice, Professional Indemnity, and Public/Products Liability. Your safety and peace of mind are my top priorities!

  • How far do you travel?

I offer a fully mobile wedding hair and makeup service and am happy to travel to you anywhere in South West England (Bristol, Bath, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon, and surrounding areas) or even further afield!

Travel and parking fees may apply depending on your wedding location and size, so please reach out for a quote.

I’d love to come to you!

  • Can I contact previous brides for references?

Yes, you can! I have some wonderful brides who are happy to share their experiences with you.

Just let me know, and I can connect you with them for a reference.

In the meantime, feel free to check out my Google review page where many brides have left glowing feedback. My goal is to make you feel confident and comfortable with your choice!

  • How do you charge—by the hour or per person?

I charge per person, per service, like “Bride Hair” or “Bride Makeup.” This method is the fairest and most transparent, as it reflects the time and attention each service requires. This way, you know exactly what to expect!

  • How many weddings do you do in one day?

I very rarely take on multiple weddings in one day. This only happens occasionally if one wedding is very early and the other is in the afternoon, and they’re nearby (for example, if the first bride’s wedding finishes by 11am and the second starts in the mid-afternoon). If you have a lunchtime booking and another bride requests my services, I’ll always make it clear if I need to leave at a certain time for an existing commitment. Your wedding will be my top priority!

  • Do you charge extra if you come to my venue?

I rarely charge extra for travel as I usually include these costs in the bridal package. However, it can vary depending on the size and location of your wedding, so please contact me for a quote. I’m here to make things as convenient as possible for you!

Trial Questions

  • What is a trial? Do I have to have one?

A trial is a pre-wedding appointment where we test out your hair and makeup look to ensure everything is picture-perfect for your big day. It’s a great opportunity to experiment with different styles and make any adjustments before the wedding.

While a trial is highly recommended to ensure you’re completely happy with your look, it’s not mandatory. If you can’t have a trial due to location, time, finances or other reasons - just let me know. I’m still happy to work with you on your wedding day, and we can allocate extra time to make any adjustments as needed.

  • Where does the trial take place?

The trial takes place at my home studio in Lyde Green, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, BS16 7NX.

For directions and a tour of my salon click here

  • How can I book a trial?

Please contact me, and I’ll send you a link to book your trial.

You’ll receive a confirmation email with your trial appointment temporarily scheduled for the morning of your wedding.

Click the 'View or Change My Appointment' button in that email to select a more convenient date and time.

I’m here to help you find the perfect slot!

I recommend booking your wedding day first to ensure your date is reserved. There’s no extra cost—just the cost of the trial to secure your wedding booking.

  • When should the trial take place?

Ideally, the trial should be scheduled 2-3 months before your big day. However, you’re welcome to book it whenever you feel ready to decide on your style.

Some brides find it helpful to arrange the trial on the same day as a dress fitting so they can see the complete look together.

  • How long does the trial take?

I allocate up to an hour for the hair trial and an hour for the bridal makeup trial. This time allows us to explore ideas, test out styles, and ensure everything is perfect for your big day. I’ll take notes and pictures to replicate the look on your wedding morning.

For the rest of the wedding party, I allow approximately 40 minutes per hair or makeup trial.

  • What do I need to do before my hair/makeup trial?

    Makeup:

Please arrive without any makeup. Just cleanse, tone, and moisturise as you normally would to prepare your skin.

    Hair:

Wash your hair the day before and avoid using heat styling or products. Hair with a day or more of natural oils holds styles better. If you have hair accessories, please bring them along so we can incorporate them into the style. I also have some basic accessories available to try.

It might be nice to wear a top which is a similar colour to your bridal outfit, to help you envision the bridal look.

We’ll start the trial with a consultation, so please bring a picture of your dress and any Pinterest or mood boards with hair and makeup styles you’d like to try.

  • What happens at the trial?

    Makeup Trial:

We’ll start by discussing your daily makeup routine and any special occasions to understand your usual style. Feel free to bring any pictures of makeup looks you like.

We’ll take the process step-by-step, adding little touches in stages to ensure you’re completely happy with the final look. I’ll suggest colours and work on one eye at a time, incorporating your wedding color scheme and flowers. For example, if your flowers are pastel pink, a matching pastel pink lip will look stunning in photos.

If you don’t wear much makeup day-to-day, I’ll use highlighter to give you a special, sparkly look while keeping it natural and comfortable. I use airbrush foundation for a light, flawless finish that feels fresh.

If you’re used to a lot of makeup, I can create a high-definition look to match your style.

After you are 100% happy and confident with your makeup we will move on to your hair.

    The Hair Trial Run

Each hairstylist has their own approach to trials, but my goal is to make you feel as relaxed as possible. If you’re unsure about the style you want, we can try a few different looks or I can suggest styles based on your hair type, length, and face shape. It’s helpful if you bring photos of styles you like, and any tiaras, veils, or hair accessories you plan to use, so we can incorporate them and perfect the positioning.

During the trial, I use minimal product on your hair to allow for easy adjustments and changes. On your wedding day, I’ll use more products and pins to ensure your style stays in place all day and night. If you’re torn between styles, don’t worry—just let me know which one you’ve chosen before your wedding day.

Keep in mind that your hair and makeup will always look slightly different because it’s being done by someone else. During the trial, you might be wearing your everyday clothes, so the look may seem a bit over-the-top.

Remember, most of your wedding photos will be full-length to showcase your beautiful dress and the whole wedding party.

It’s best to view your makeup in a full-length mirror, not a close-up one - After the trial, I recommend putting on a formal dress and standing in front of a full-length mirror to make sure you’re completely happy with the look.

Scheduling your trial on the same day as your wedding dress fitting is a great idea to see the complete look before your big day.

  • Can I look at suggestions of styles?

Absolutely! I’m happy to create any style you have in mind. Please bring any inspirational images of styles you'd like to try to your trial. You can also check out the styles I’ve done before on my website, Pinterest, Facebook, or Instagram for more ideas.

  • Do I have to have a trial run? What if I can’t have a trial?

A trial run is definitely recommended to make sure you’re completely happy with your look and to explore different styles. However, if you can’t have a trial due to location, time, or costs, just let me know. I’ve worked with many brides without a trial and can still create a beautiful look for you. I’ll just allocate extra time on the day to make any adjustments as needed.

  • What if I’m not happy with my hair/makeup trial?

During the trial, I’ll work closely with you to build the look, asking for your feedback and making any necessary tweaks to ensure you’re happy. I encourage you to suggest any changes you’d like along the way.

If, after the trial, you’re not completely satisfied, you can cancel your wedding booking with no additional costs or charges. The only payment required to secure my services is the cost of the trial, so you won’t be financially obligated to proceed if you’re not entirely happy with the result. Your satisfaction is my priority!

Makeup Questions

  • What makeup styles can you do?

I can create any makeup look you desire, from a natural, subtle "no makeup" look to a dramatic, glamorous style with lashes and contour, and everything in between.

Not sure what style to choose? No worries—this is what the trial is for! We’ll explore different looks based on your outfit, hair, and face type and tone. Together, we’ll build a look that ensures you feel like the best version of yourself on your wedding day.

  • Can I look at suggestions of styles?

Absolutely! Feel free to bring any inspirational images to your trial. You can also check out styles I’ve done before on my website, Pinterest, Facebook or Instagram for more ideas.

  • What brands of makeup do you use?

I use a wide range of top professional makeup products to ensure a flawless bridal look. Some of the brands I use include MAC, Urban Decay, MORPHE, Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, Kryolan, Laura Mercier, HD Brows, Dr. Jart+, TOO FACED, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Huda Beauty, Zoeva, Sephora, The Ordinary, Tarte, and Airbase Airbrush Makeup, among others. My extensive kit ensures I have everything needed to create a look that’s perfectly tailored to you.

  • Do you have the right makeup/makeup skills for my skin tone?

Yes, I have a wide range of colors and products to suit every skin tone and skin type. My goal is to ensure your makeup enhances your natural beauty and looks flawless for your big day.

  • How hygienic is your makeup?

I prioritise hygiene in all aspects of my makeup application. After each client, I thoroughly clean all brushes and products using an IPA-based cleaner. Brushes are dipped in IPA, and then wiped on a clean tissue to ensure they are fully sanitized.

I use disposables wherever possible and never double-dip. For mascara, I always use disposable wands, and I apply lipstick with cotton buds, using a palette knife to transfer the colour to a metal palette. Brow pencils and lip liners are sharpened after each use and dipped in alcohol to sterilize them.

I also have various makeup cleaners containing IPA (Isopropanol Alcohol) and spray all products with IPA after use. Additionally, I use Airbase Airbrush Foundation, which is applied with an airbrush gun and compressor, reducing the risk of spreading bacteria compared to traditional brushes or fingers. This ensures a high level of hygiene for your makeup application.

  • Can you use my makeup?

Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own makeup for your trial. However, I prefer using my products as they are water-resistant and have been tested for durability on wedding days. For hygiene reasons, I may need to decant your products or use your applicators to minimize the risk of bacteria and to keep my tools and brushes uncontaminated.

  • How long will my makeup last?

A wedding day can be challenging for makeup, especially with summer heat and humidity.

I use professional, long-lasting, and water-resistant products to ensure your look stays fresh throughout the day. I use an airbrush foundation, which is silicone-based, luxurious, and incredibly lightweight. It’s designed to be durable, tear-resistant, and perfect for bridal beauty, so you can enjoy your day with confidence in your makeup.

  • Do you include a touch-up kit?

I ensure that your makeup is long-lasting, so usually, the only touch-up you might need is for your lipstick. If you prefer, you can bring your lipstick along for any minor touch-ups throughout the day. If you have specific needs or concerns, just let me know!

  • What is Airbrush Makeup?

Airbrush makeup is a perfect choice for a flawless complexion, especially if you want a stunning 'WOW' look for your big day. Airbase Airbrush Foundation offers a long-lasting finish, so you won’t need to worry about frequent touch-ups during your special day.

It’s lightweight, silicone-based, and highly pigmented, providing a flawless finish that looks amazing in wedding photos. The foundation feels luxurious on the skin and is durable and tear-resistant—ideal for bridal beauty. Airbrush makeup comes in a wide range of colours that can be mixed for perfect colour matching to any skin tone.

Applied using a spray, airbrush makeup is the most hygienic method due to minimal contact with the skin. It also effectively conceals imperfections like spots or moles.

  • Do you only use Airbrush Foundation?

I primarily use airbrush foundation because it’s long-lasting and water-resistant, perfect for a flawless bridal look.

However, I also have other foundations available if you prefer a different option after trying it during your trial. Your comfort and satisfaction with the final look are my top priorities.

  • I’m going to spray tan for my wedding; is that okay?

Absolutely! If you plan to fake tan, it’s a good idea to do this before your makeup trial so you can see how the makeup looks with your tanned skin. On the day of your wedding, I can adjust the makeup to match your current skin colour perfectly.

I also do spray tans, for more information click here

Hair Questions

  • What styles of hair can you do?

I can create any hairstyle you envision for your wedding day, whether it’s loose curls, a side messy bun, a classic chignon, or a half-up, half-down style with braids, twists, a veil, or wedding flowers.

Not sure what hairstyle to choose? This blog post might give you some inspiration! Don’t worry if you’re still undecided—this is what the trial is for. We can explore different looks and styles that suit your outfit, hair type, and face shape to ensure you feel like the best version of yourself on your wedding day.

  • Can i look at suggestions of styles

Absolutely! Feel free to bring any inspirational images to your trial. You can also check out styles I’ve done before on my website, Pinterest, Facebook or Instagram for more ideas.

  • Will my hair stay in all day?

Absolutely! I’ll pin your hair securely and comfortably to ensure it stays in place throughout the day. To make sure it holds up during all the excitement, I might even ask you to do a little headbanging before I leave—just to test its durability! You can dance the night away knowing your hair will look great all day and evening.

  • What do I need to supply for you to do my hair?

You don’t need to supply anything—I bring my complete hair kit with all the necessary products, including straighteners, curling irons, sprays, brushes, lots and lots of pins and even an extension lead. If you prefer to use your own products, just let me know, and I’ll be happy to incorporate them into your styling.

  • Will you provide hair accessories?

I have some basic accessories and a veil available to use as examples during your trial to help you decide on the perfect look. However, for your wedding day, you will need to purchase your chosen accessories. If you need any recommendations, I’m happy to help!

  • What if I want to take my veil out during my wedding day?

No problem at all! I can show you or any member of your wedding party how to remove the veil, so you can take it out after your photos and enjoy a different look for the rest of your day.

Making Changes to Your Booking Questions

  • My wedding party has changed; can I remove/add bridesmaids?

Of course! Just let me know as soon as possible.

If you need to add more people, I’m happy to adjust the booking as long as you’re okay with starting earlier if needed.

If the number of bridesmaids decreases, a minimum fee might apply. Please note that I cannot offer refunds for bridesmaids removed within a month of the wedding, but you’re welcome to have guests or other individuals have hair/makeup in their place.

  • I need to cancel my booking; what happens to my deposit?

I understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your booking, your deposit (trial costs) will be credited to your account for use against any other services I offer. Please let me know as soon as possible to arrange this.

If you have already had your trial, the cost of the trial is non-refundable. If you have paid any money towards the date, please get in touch with me to discuss.

Please note that if you cancel within 6 weeks of your wedding, I will not be able to offer a refund or credit, as the reserved date is likely to remain unfilled

  • What if I need to postpone my wedding due to COVID?

I understand that changes might be necessary during these times, and I’m committed to being as accommodating as possible. If you need to reschedule your wedding due to COVID-19, please inform me as soon as possible, especially if you have a new date in mind, so I can hold it for you.

Weddings can be fully transferred to a new date with a 15% admin fee. If your wedding is postponed by more than 18 months, there may be an increase in service costs to reflect any yearly adjustments (no more than 10%). If I am unavailable on your new date, I will do my best to help you find another artist or stylist.

For trials that have already taken place, the cost cannot be refunded, but if your trial hasn’t occurred yet, I’m happy to transfer the cost to a gift voucher for use against any of my services (makeup, hair, or beauty).

I believe this approach is fair and in line with government guidelines.

Wedding Day Questions

  • How should I prep my hair and skin before the wedding day?

    Preparation Tips:

    • Wear Loose Clothing: A robe works great to keep your hair intact.
    • Also, bring a lipstick for touch-ups throughout the day.

    For Makeup: Prepping Your Skin:

    • Please cleanse, tone, and moisturise as usual.
    • I’ll bring a high director’s chair, so a spot near a window with natural light and a table for my brushes and products would be ideal.

    For Hair: Pre-Wash:

    • Wash your hair the day before for better hold.
    • Make sure your hair is completely dry, and avoid using straighteners or too many products.
    • Blow-drying is fine.
    • If you have naturally curly hair, let it air dry.

    Blow-Dry:

    •  If you’re having a blow-dry, wash your hair just before the appointment so it’s damp.

A space at a desk or dining table with a chair, near a plug socket, would be perfect for setting up.

  • What space do you need?

    For Makeup:

    • A spot near a window with natural light is ideal.
    • A table to set up my brushes and products.
    • I’ll bring a high director's chair for your comfort.

    For Hair:

    • A desk or dining table and chair near a plug socket will work perfectly.
    • A dining table and chair or hotel desk are great options!
  • Will you be on time?

I will do my absolute best to be punctual! Starting early in the morning usually means less traffic and a smoother start. I’ll provide detailed timings beforehand to ensure everything runs smoothly. There will be time built in for touch-ups and any unexpected delays, so you’ll still be ready well before you need to walk down the aisle. Plus, there will be breaks included to accommodate the photographer, flowers arriving, or any special moments with your bridesmaids and parents.

  • How long will each person take?

When you book, I’ll confirm approximate timings, which we’ll review during your trial.

    As a general guide:

    • Bride's Hair & Makeup: Up to 1.5 hours

    Bridal Party:

    • Makeup: 25 minutes per person
    • Hair: 35 minutes per person
    • Flower Girls' Hair: 20 minutes per child

  • What happens if you're ill or have an emergency on the wedding day?

In the rare event of extreme circumstances like personal emergencies, illness, severe weather, or unexpected issues, I will make every effort to arrange another makeup artist or hairstylist for you.

If I can’t find a replacement, I will refund 100% of the wedding day booking costs, minus the cost of your trial. However, I’m unable to offer any additional compensation fees. I recommend purchasing private wedding insurance to cover such situations

  • How long will you be staying on the day?

When you book, I'll confirm the approximate timings in your booking confirmation. I typically aim to finish 45 minutes to 1 hour before you need to leave, allowing time for any last-minute touch-ups and for me to pack up my kit before I need to vacate the room.
