There are now some great brow treatments and products available to give everyone their desired brows. Available for all your brow needs! Let me explain the difference between them...
Brow Tint
This is a way of colouring your brows, similar to a semi-permanent hair colour. I use HD Brows tint which can last up to 4 weeks. Some hair will hold the pigment longer, resulting in longer lasting results. Meanwhile, some hairs won’t absorb the pigment as much resulting in the colour fading quicker. The treatment takes about 10-15 minutes and is available in 5 colours (Ash, Light and Dark Brown, Black & Midnight black), which can be mixed to create a bespoke blend.
Henna
Henna comes in powder and liquid forms. It also lasts a lot longer than your average eyebrow tint. You can stain the skin giving a fuller look. Henna lasts up to 6 weeks on the hair, and up to 10 days on the skin. It's a naturally devised product, however it does alter the PH so cannot be used with brow lamination (can be done 48 hours after lamination). This takes around 45 minutes for the treatment. Works well on grey/mature hair, but mainly warm colours. Goes on in a paste, develops and drys into a thick paste so can be timely to remove.
The process is created in layers so you can choose how bold or natural you want the final result to be. It also comes in a variety of shades, almost double the amount of regular tinting with 10 different shades to choose from to ensure you have the best colour to highlight your facial features.
It's a fantastic way to try out a shape before committing to semi-permanent makeup, or if you just want your eyebrows shaped and filled temporarily.
Pros -
• Henna brows tint and stain the skin giving you a more fuller, 3D effect.
• It's great for those that have sparse or over plucked brows
• Henna brows can encourage hair to grow back fuller in all the right places
• It contains less chemicals and harsh ingredients so is a great option for sensitive skin
• It will last on the hairs for up to 6 weeks which is almost twice as long as regular tint
• Henna can tint the skin anywhere from 2-10 days
• Henna takes beautifully to grey hairs
Cons -
• The oilier your skin, the less the skin stain will last
• You will need to clean around your brows. The more you can leave them alone and not touch them, the longer the skin stain will last.
• Henna will not last as long with skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis.
• For best results, the more brow hair the better. People with very little brow hair would not see such long lasting results
Henna Brows is the latest, must-have brow colouring treatment. Henna is taking over from tint. This natural colouring agent is vegan friendly, it contains no lead or ammonia and doesn’t require the use of hydrogen peroxide. Lasting 6-7 weeks on brow hairs and with 7 colour variations, this is a must have treatment for your salon or clinic.
Colouring
Unlike traditional eyebrow tint, Henna Brows gives much greater colour variety and allows you to mix bespoke custom-made colours suited to your hair colour and skin tone. Colours can be used alone or mixed together. You can even create a bespoke ombre and powder brows. The choice is endless!
Henna Brows also picks up the pigment in old semi permanent make up to refresh the colour. It gives unrivalled grey coverage to create soft natural looking brows for older clients.
Hybrid Tint
Hybrid has taken the brow world by storm and is basically described as a tint that has a duo result - it tints the hair and the skin. Hybrid Tint is a product that stains the skin and the hairs, without henna. This can be used with Lamination. I use Infinity Hybrid Tint, a brand new product only released in January 2023 - formulated by two of the biggest brow names in the business!
Infinity Hybrid Tint contains no henna, but has the results of henna. Skin stain up to 7 days, and up to 6 weeks on the hair. Suitable immediately after brow lamination, with gentle ph on the hair. Approximately a 30 minute treatment time. Perfect for clients with thin, sparse brows and those wanting a bolder look, as this is a full colour system and you can create an infinite number of colour mixes. Works well on grey / mature brows.

With any brow colour or product, a patch test is essential to ensure you do not react to the product/ colour. It is extremely rare, however, in the unlikely event it does happen, it can be quite serious (and ugly!) so it is best to pop in to have a dot of the product put on your inner arm 48 hours - 7 days before the treatment.
Brow Wax / Tidy / Threading / Shaping
Hair is removed using either wax, threading or tweezing. This can be below and above the brows, and of course any hairs causing a monobrow! The shape can be thin, thick /full with rounded, straight or arched style - depending on your own style and brow hair.
HD Brows
HD Brows is a bespoke eyebrow treatment that is totally tailored to you. It’s so much more than a standard eyebrow tint and wax; our expertly trained stylists combine our unique design formula with custom-blended colour, hair removal and make up application for brows that suit you. Helps to create your perfect look, whether you wish to tame bushy brows or regrow overplucked eyebrows.
The treatment consists of: Consultation, Tinting, Waxing, Threading, Tweezer/Finishing.
Brow Lamination
I use HD Brow Sculpt, which is a brow lamination with a bespoke HD Brows twist. Whether you dream of achieving that full, fluffy eyebrow look, want to create symmetry in uneven brows or tame unruly hairs, our BrowSculpt brow lamination treatment is for you. This corrective treatment helps you to achieve your desired position for up to 6 weeks.
Brow lamination is a two-step eyebrow perming treatment that involves correcting the brow shape by setting the hairs in place using a chemical solution. In the first step, a cream is applied that breaks down bonds in the eyebrow hairs so they can be manipulated into a new position. In the second step, another cream is applied to rebuild these bonds and set the brows in their new uniform position.
If you have unruly, flat or downward growing hairs, eyebrow lamination can change the direction of growth to create a more uniform look with a higher arch and a more desirable brow shape. Brow lamination lasts 4 to 6 weeks generally, with proper care allowing the brow treatment to last as long as 8 weeks
Book yourself in for a patch test and I can assess your brows and talk you through which treatment will be best for you. If you have never had anything done to your brows before, it might be best to start off with a basic eyebrow tint and wax, to see how you feel before building up to some more enhanced treatments.
Microblading is similar to a cosmetic tattoo - both treatments will insert ink into the lower layers of the skin, not as deep as a normal tattoo, which is why top-ups are recommended every 12 months so the colour is fresh. However they may not completely fade away, so it is vital that you do your research and make sure you are completely happy with your chosen brow shape and colour. Why not try Henna or Hybrid tint first? This is a great way to see what a more bolder brow will look like on you, and for you to get used to a new shape and colour, safe in the knowledge it will only last a few weeks before committing to microblading!
